The Manoir Bruit of Haus am Gern and association Bruit has found its place in our park as a matter of course. The Manoir Bruit is a place of sound, a place of experimentation.
Residencies at Manoir Bruit give artists the freedom to work on their art combined with a sonic result. The form and type of work, as well as the result, are left to the discretion of the artists: the work may be research, a practice, a new development or a reflection – goal-oriented, wandering, questioning or delving deeper into sound and/or improvisation. The result may be music, a vestige or derivative of music; a sound trace, a simple sound document or an installation. It will be played in the park of the Château de Sibra from the Manoir Bruit, every day for several weeks. It will also be archived and published/broadcast online by Editions Bruit.
The “Manoir Bruit” is an initiative of Haus am Gern (www.hausamgern.ch) in cooperation with Château de Sibra (www.chateaudesibra.fr) and the Bruit association (www.bruit-asso.org). Manoir Bruit was made possible thanks to the support of the City of Biel, the Canton of Bern, and the Fondation Henneberger-Mercier.
Upcoming Residencies
Manoir Bruit is a small space dedicated to artistic residencies. Several times a year, musicians, sound artists or composers move into the little house for a few days to work, record or develop new ideas – surrounded by the quiet of the park.

Alongside the musical residencies at Manoir Bruit, the Endroit residencies will also take place again, during which artists live and work in Sibra for several weeks.

Applications for the residency programme
The residencies are seen as an exchange between Biel-based artists and a specific context, as well as a living contribution in and around the Château de Sibra. The artists in residence are chosen exclusively by Haus am Gern and Bruit association.
